A short note about the house: Chalet Franzi has been a place for holidays in the mountains for many years. What once started as a family home was soon shared with guests. We continue this tradition today: a well‑cared‑for house that has grown over time, where we welcome guests the way we would like to be welcomed ourselves.
Who is Chalet Franzi suitable for? Chalet Franzi is a good fit for families, groups of friends, and everyone who enjoys spending their holidays together. It offers space for up to 9 people and is ideal for guests who love mountains, nature, and a quiet setting – without hustle and bustle, but right in the middle of it all.
How many people can stay at Chalet Franzi? Chalet Franzi comfortably accommodates up to 9 guests, making it wel- suited for larger families or groups of friends.
Is Chalet Franzi located at the ski slope? Yes. Chalet Franzi is located right next to the ski slope. In winter, you can reach the piste within a few steps and start and end your ski day without using a car or ski bus.
Is Chalet Franzi suitable for non‑skiers? Yes. Guests who do not ski appreciate the quiet location, the mountain surroundings, and the opportunities for winter walks, snowshoeing, or simply relaxing days in the house and garden.
Can you start hiking directly from Chalet Franzi? Yes. In summer, hiking trails and mountain tours start right outside the door. Many guests enjoy being able to set off directly without having to drive anywhere first.
How quiet is the location of Chalet Franzi? Chalet Franzi is set in a quiet, natural location, away from through traffic. This is exactly what guests value when they are looking to switch off and enjoy time in the mountains.
Is Chalet Franzi suitable for families with children? Yes. Families particularly appreciate the space inside the house, the large private garden with plenty of room around the house, and the natural surroundings. In winter, the proximity to the ski slope is especially convenient.
Is Chalet Franzi suitable for groups of friends? Yes. The chalet provides ample space for spending time together, as well as areas for areas to retreat. Many groups of friends come for skiing, hiking, or simply to enjoy a few quiet days together.
Is there a garden at Chalet Franzi? Yes. The chalet has a large private garden with plenty of space around the house, exclusively for our guests.
Are there parking spaces at Chalet Franzi? Yes. There are four private parking spaces, located just a short walk away (around 30 metres). They are easy to reach, marked with "Chalet Franzi" signs, but not directly next to the house.
Are there special summer benefits? Yes. In summer, Chalet Franzi is a premium partner of the Dorfgastein outdoor pools. Our guests enjoy free entry. The pool area is quietly and beautifully located, with views of the surrounding mountains. It offers several pools, a water slide, and spacious sunbathing areas – a pleasant place to spend time after a hike or on warm summer days.
Are there benefits with the guest card? Yes. Every guest at Chalet Franzi automatically receives the guest card. The guest card includes various discounts and benefits within the region. One of the most practical advantages is free use of public trains throughout the entire federal state of Salzburg. This makes trips – for example to the city of Salzburg – easy and relaxed.
Is Chalet Franzi open all year round? Yes. Chalet Franzi is open all year. Winter, summer, spring, and autumn each have their own appeal here, and many guests deliberately choose the quieter off‑season.
